Joe Bob finally dragged me into Coffin Joe’s madhouse, and wow the Technicolor hell sequence is AWESOME. It’s like stumbling out of grainy midnight TV into a lurid carnival of sin rubbery nightmares, writhing tableaux, and a pop of color so wild it feels illegal. Coffin Joe, blasphemous rants, obsession with bloodlines, and a swaggering boogeyman energy that’s more attitude than plot. It lingers more than it lands pacing wobbles, and that tacked on “be good” finish undercuts the bite (I guess was not the ending he wanted to do ) but as a midnight oddity and historical shock, it rules. Thanks to Joe Bob for the intro; without him I might’ve skipped this freakshow detour. Cool artifact, killer color-dream!
