Su reconocimiento llegó con Easy Rider. Después llegarían Shampoo (1975), de Hal Ashby, New York, New York (1977), de Martin Scorsese, Los cazafantasmas (1984), de Ivan Reitman, La boda de mi mejor amigo (1997), de P. J. Hogan...
