Neues Team. Neue Einstellung. Neue Mission.

Antonio Banderas is AWESOME !!!! :D
The series was wearing thing in Part 2 - and this has nothing new to offer except variations on an already well-worn theme. Here the film take itself far too seriously in the first half and watching some of these actors try to "act" is painful. The story, such as it is, is far too long, going to the extent of introducing a new younger set of Expendables before remembering what the whole point of the series was in the first place. The film comes to life whenever Antonio Banderas or Mel Gibson are on screen, these two seemingly the only ones able to recognise the tone the film should be going for. Passable, but equally missable too.
I somewhat enjoyed this movie, even though it's predictable and the characters are flat, the only interesting character was the crazy spanish guy, played by Antonio Banderas. Too bad he got too little screen time. They should do a crazy spanish guy movie instead of 'Expendables 4'.
To be honest, The Expendables 3 doesn't really do it for me. Sure, it's fun to see all the old guys run around as usual, but for some weird reason they managed to cut this down to a PG-13. No 80s or 90s action movie would ever end up there. Stupid choice!!! The other reason this doesn't rate up there with the other two, especially the second, is because they brought in some kids that didn't really bring anything new to the table. I'm sorry, but even though I love Ronda Rousey, those new additions were not why I watch the Expendables franchise. What IS good, though, is Mel Gibson as the villain. One of the greatest villains on this side of the 10s...for sure. Honorable mentions go to Banderas as the batshit insane Spaniard. Quite liked that one. Ok...so where does this leave The Expendables 3? Somewhere between OK and decent. I do enjoy it for what it is, but I usually skip this and watch the other two instead if I want some Expendables fun.
Same old good stuff, but 1 & 2 were better
