That's two hours of my life I'm never getting back...
a senseless film... totally wasted time
Fun throwback to 80 testosterone action flicks. The tone is a bit off, and doesn't really match the fun goofiness of those old movies. It kind of takes itself too seriously. But it's still a kick to see all these guys together, blasting and punching everything in their path.
This franchise is basically a big love letter to the action movies of the ’80s and early ’90s and to the larger-than-life heroes who defined that era. None of these films are perfect, and honestly, they’re not trying to be. They’re loud, over-the-top, and packed with explosions, cheesy one-liners, and classic tough-guy moments, and that’s exactly what makes them so much fun. If you grew up watching these guys (Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Lundgren, Willis, and the rest) it’s like catching up with old friends who just happen to blow stuff up for a living. The Expendables movies deliver pure nostalgia mixed with that old-school action vibe that’s hard to find these days. I’ve been along for the ride since the first one dropped in 2010, and even with all the ups and downs, I’ve enjoyed every bit of this throwback chaos. And honestly, part of the fun is imagining who else could show up next. I’d love to see some more classic action stars like Kurt Russell, Jackie Chan, Keanu Reeves, or even Dwayne Johnson join the team. Maybe throw in a few newer faces like Gina Carano, or Sydney Sweeney to keep things fresh. The more wild team-ups, the better. That’s what makes this series such a blast for old-school action fans.
