_Exorcist: The Beginning_ is the perfect film for multi-taskers because the less you watch it, the better it is.
It was more fast and actiony then Dominion in my opinion. Which was good but also bad. Dominion had pretty ok build up, this was kind of like "quicker" version of Dominion. There were some differences so you can see both and don't think you are watching the same movie although some actors were the same and also the church was the same. I can't say at the end which one was better because both had ups and downs. I don't think this should be compared to the first Exorcist howerever.
In my opinion, "Exorcist: The Beginning" is not as bad as it is often rated. Despite the complicated production history, the result is a halfway competent film, which admittedly never goes beyond pure mediocrity. The effects are rather below average, and the actors, except for leading man Stellan Skarsgård, are not worth mentioning either. This prequel also never even comes close to the heights of the original or the first half of Part 3. It is simply too long; 90 minutes would have sufficed. If you're looking for an entertaining exorcism film, look elsewhere.
> "Sometimes I think the best view of God is from Hell." This stopped being art and is more of a Hollywood prequel for the numbers. There is a good twist that you see coming and while it was cool to see, it still is not a great movie.
An exorcist origin story no one asked for and that does not really work. For hardcore fans only
