Having none of the creepiness and terror of the original, _Pet Sematary II_ is an abysmal sequel. After the death of his mother, Jeff Matthews moves to the rural town of Ludlow, Maine, with his father; where he soon learns of an ancient Indian burial ground that has the power to resurrect the dead. Edward Furlong leads the cast and gives a terrible performance. But he doesn’t really have much to work with, as the writing is awful. Additionally, the costumes and sets all look incredibly cheap, giving the film a low-rent feel. While it tries to hit the same beats as the first film, _Pet Sematary II_ is just a pathetic imitation.

>"Dead is better! DEAD IS BETTER!" This is weird: I feel like this one has better actors and performances, the undead animal is better, at some parts are actually creepier, yet isn't as good as the original.

"I'm just fuckin' with ya'!" Clancy Brown is easily the best part of this movie. His character is both chaotic and evil. The sequel itself is way more over the top than the first movie. It doesn’t hold back in harming and killing children.

Pointless sequel to the original and not based on a book by Stephen King. However, while this sequel is one many people wish was left buried, it's not all that bad, despite its weak credentials.
