Anacondas: Trail of Blood predictably continues the franchise’s downward spiral, delivering yet another weaker version of what came before. This time, the ongoing protagonist carries over, but even that continuity can’t mask how tired the formula has become. By this point, the series feels like an experiment in diminishing returns—almost like AI recreating the same image over and over, with each iteration losing clarity, creativity, and impact in the most expected ways possible. It’s not shocking, it’s not engaging, and it’s barely memorable. Still, as a bizarre franchise journey, it’s oddly fascinating to see just how far things drift from the original idea. Since the same people behind “Anacondas: Trail of Blood” were responsible for its direct predecessor, it’s no surprise that this film is just as terrible. The effects are once again atrocious, which ruins the occasionally decent gore. Meanwhile, the acting is once again at the lowest TV level, even though David Hasselhoff is no longer involved this time. At least John Rhys-Davies got to collect another paycheck—good for him. Unfortunately, nothing here is good for the viewer, because this fourth film in the series is yet another animal horror flick without any sense of fun or suspense. And that just can't work.
