>*"The dead mend, the living weave."* Very offbeat, weird and stylish. I like the dirty old 16mm look mixed in with the close up camerawork and unique mixture of music it's all very captivating. The couple are so incredibly dumb they ignored every red flag that ever existed in the history of cinema it's so frustrating. Saint Peter is the highlight of this movie, pretty intriguing and entertaining character. Thank god for subtitles with that accent. The twist is so predictable it's written in the sky but it has more to offer past that thankfully. The black and white tape was the best moment, pretty effective. Gory kills and cool mask worthy of an horror icon. Didn't like what it turned into in those last 20 minutes, a lot of wtf nonsensical moments. Is this how Rock Lee felt when he opened all eight gates?

If you were ever interested in seeing A Serbian Film but were never sure of whether or not you should: fear not! You can watch this film instead. It has none of the nasty stuff A Serbian Film has but it has enough Balkan Dread to give you an idea of what it could have been. For lack of better words: let's call this a PG rated A Serbian Film. It isn't bad -definitely not 48% bad- but it isn't great either. There are much worse horror films to watch than this - it's just a little bit bland on the sound design and effects (more grindhouse effects than bad CGI).

Another of Shudder’s generic, dysfunctional family in peril films. Visually stunning at times, but full of unlikeable characters and a meandering story.
