This is too long. It doesn't warrant the two hours it runs. That said, it's a solid thriller. If you feel like watching Hugh Grant and Gene Hackman for two hours, you'll enjoy it. I didn't find anything formulaic about the plot.

Quite a strange film... It came out at the height of ER being the best show/most popular on TV. It also has an eerie sense to it that jars a little against the procedural of the hospital scenes. Being more definitive one way or the other may have helped Hugh Grant play his role. He is out of his depth in some scenes, particularly towards the end. Gene Hackman is always a joy to watch. A true screen legend. It's not a bad film necessarily, just a bit bland. 6.25/10
