The movie that started all!! Definitely a must watch for every zombie fan.
"They're coming to get you, Barbara." This film has such a slowly builds up for the first 45 minutes and then after they watched the news on the television, it gets in your face. That scene with Karen and her Mother is amazing, Ben (Duane Jones) is a great lead! All the stuff that started here like boarding up houses with stuff you can find, the way zombies are killed, how they act, it all started here to my knowledge. So much has been said about this one that I know that I can't do it justice one bit. And everyone can watch it! It is even in its entirely on Wikipedia! So no one has an excuse to not watch George A. Romero's debut! It also really, really, really, holds up well. The black and white helps, it has a great soundtrack and even for its time, the gore is great. Man, it was such a blast revisiting this one! Thank you George A. Romero! For such an influential film!
Of course the police shoot the
black guy!
.
R.I.P. George A. Romero 1940-2017 You will be missed.
>*"They're coming to get you, Barbara."* No matter how old the visuals look, this masterpiece will forever be a classic. A founding pillar in horror cinema and a reminder of the world we're in. It's more realistic than you'd think the terror is real. The low budget shows and it has it's slow moments but it's perfect on all other accounts and the horror is so effective. What an ending!!
