What happened here? Did this movie have any Quality Security, collaboration or test viewing by the producers and original creators of the Evil Dead franchise Rob Tappert, Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell? I think not. This movie has the worst pacing and editing of all the Evil Dead movies. The shaky cam and video clip aesthetics are really bad decisions. The CGI is used too much and especially at the final act just looks so bad (I felt like being in a trashy, bad Terminator Rip-Off at the finale like Sarah Connors running away from the T-800, just in worse). The movie develops into a McGuffin hunt, the demons have an agenda, rather than being a horrormovie. None of the family members in this movie is likeable, the characters are dumb and make stupid decisions, and I didn’t care what happened to them. I was so bored by this movie, that I had to moan several times and wished that the end of the movie would come near. Perhaps with enough beer you could enjoy this movie as some kind of trashy entertainment, but as an Evil Dead movie, this one has no tension, no suspense, no real atmosphere, nearly everything is done with the sledgehammer. Oh boy, this movie feels like Tappert, Raimi and Campbell sold the Evil Dead IP to the highest bidder and just let them do a movie without checking some quality. A huge disappointment. At the end there are two end credits scenes, so stay till the end. The scenes itself are at best „nice“, but typical commercial strategies.
And best kiss of the year goes to … Evil Dead Burn This was right on par with the previous installment in this franchise. They definitely didn’t back down on the gore here. It’s mean-spirited, nasty and gory as hell. The editing and camerawork went hand in hand perfectly together. I really liked the setting with the snowy drone shots. The practical effects looked incredible. I wish the characters were more likable and easier to root for. The best character was killed off immediately. There’s one character that was difficult to watch. I don’t know what’s with the trend of having men be giant pussies in movies. I’m kind of over that trend already. If you they wrote even somewhat likable characters then this would’ve been a lot better. Regardless of that flaw this was still an excellent movie that was very entertaining. * Quadruple Feature at AMC Crestwood 18
Evil Dead Burn wastes little time unleashing deadites and gruesome body horror, yet it lacks the structure needed to create sustained tension. The story rushes through its setup, fails to establish meaningful characters, and builds to a disappointing CGI antagonist. The relentless gore occasionally impresses, but the film offers little outside of blood.
I thought this movie was fire. It was cinematically beautiful! The gore was RIGHT up my alley. They had me cringing, screaming at the tv, scared….all the emotions. This was a great movie TO ME. Evil dead saga didn’t disappoint.
eu achei muito bom,os três filmes são!!!
