A tragic story of a woman constantly paying the price for a society built by men. Everyone mistreats women here, as if it's just normal life. That part felt disturbingly real. Freida Pinto carries this film with so much silence. You can feel the exhaustion, helplessness and loneliness without her even saying much. The Rajasthan setting, the visuals, that calm atmosphere... all beautiful. My only confusion is how the relationship shifts so sharply from affection to control, abuse and hatred. I get what the film was trying to say, but that transition felt rushed. Painful, frustrating and sadly very believable.
