A rather dull affair with poor acting by Stana and Sarah often over-holding facial expressions. Story deserved a better film, too much schmaltz and emphasis on trying to commend the women involved rather than focusing on what happened, which would have achieved that aim far better. The book is much better "A woman of no importance"
I enjoyed this move - based on real events and people. It's not action-packed, but spying is all about doing things quietly anyway. The British decided to drop civilian men and women into France during WWII to disrupt the German army. This movie mostly focuses on a couple of the women. Not sure how much of the Jew angle was real or just made up - you never know when people re-write history.
I found this to be a very interesting movie, with a story based on truth that I was unfamiliar with. This is not an action movie, rather it is about the lives and experiences of 3 Woman who helped kick-off an effort that cost the lives of 1/3 of the Women involved, but saved countless other lives.
fact was far better and more interesting than this movie. this is largely an amalgam of the first British spy efforts condensed into a vanity piece by Sarah Megan Thomas who appears to have single handedly won the war (also wrote, directed, produced and lead actress...). Stana Katic's British accent was so bizarre I had to put subtitles on and eventually got used to her mangled pronunciation. whilst it is a passable dull movie there is no real rise and fall, no cliffhanger to be saved from, just hum drum then fade the action out there are plenty of better movies out there and I would keep this on the bench in reserve unwatched.
the real story is incredible and I did enjoy this but feel like it should have been a miniseries because it loses some of its complexity and tension in film format.
