Efficient rather than excellent account of a true story. There are some good moments here, but only a handful of moments truly stand out.

The director seems more interested in constructing a typical portrait of the cruel Nazi (represented by Klaus Barbie), than in showing the personality of the protagonist who does not have a good model in Jesse Eisenberg either. The film wants to be a blockbuster more than a look at the tragedy of children in war.
