Synopsis
Durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, Marcel Mangel / Marceau alias « Le mime Marceau » s'est engagé dans la Résistance française sous l'influence de son cousin, Georges Loinger, et de son frère, Simon. Il a contribué à sauver des milliers d'orphelins pendant la guerre. Il aurait appris le mime, en partie, afin d'aider ces enfants, dont les parents ont été tués par les nazis, à s'échapper.

Efficient rather than excellent account of a true story. There are some good moments here, but only a handful of moments truly stand out.

A film about the life of Marcel Marceau, an Alsatian and the creator of the Mime Marceau. The movie is dramatized but based on a true story that helped save French Jewish children from the Nazis (around 10,000 Jewish children were rescued throughout the war). It’s a film that’s easy to watch.

A film about Marcel Marceau that forgets Marcel Marceau. The director seems more interested in constructing a typical portrait of the cruel Nazi (represented by Klaus Barbie), than in showing the personality of the protagonist who does not have a good model in Jesse Eisenberg either. The film wants to be a blockbuster more than a look at the tragedy of children in war.
