I don’t comment much, but I saw the one other comment this movie currently has and I felt the urge to write that I disagree that this is _just_ a teen girl movie. Sure, on the surface, it is. But I (male) remember watching this movie as a kid, and to me, underneath that teen girl movie surface, it’s about family and connection. How the everyday burdens of life can blind you to what’s really going on with a person. How if you take the time to actually get to know someone, you may find out your preconceptions about them are wrong. And while you may not become friends, you can come to a better understanding and respect. It's also got some great actors, including Adrienne Shelly, who left us far too soon. Or maybe I’m just reading into it too much. 😆
