John Wayne and Howard Hawks - that's a tough combination to beat even from todays perspective. Yes, this is an amalgation of a lot of other similar movies. Still I can watch them again and again. I never get tired of them.

After Rio Bravo (1959) and El Dorado (1966), we see Rio Lobo, the third version of the same story, always with John Wayne as the protagonist, Howard Hawks as director, and Leigh Brackett as screenwriter. We really liked all three.
