Synopsis
Pendant la Guerre de Sécession, le Capitaine Cordona et ses hommes attaquent un train d'or qui est sous la responsabilité du Colonel McNally. Au cours de l'opération, ils tuent un jeune officier. McNally, qui le considérait comme son fils, jure de le venger. Cordona est capturé mais il refuse de dénoncer ses informateurs. À sa sortie de prison, il change pourtant d'avis et accepte de l'aider...

John Wayne and Howard Hawks - that's a tough combination to beat even from todays perspective. Yes, this is an amalgation of a lot of other similar movies. Still I can watch them again and again. I never get tired of them.

After Rio Bravo (1959) and El Dorado (1966), we see Rio Lobo, the third version of the same story, always with John Wayne as the protagonist, Howard Hawks as director, and Leigh Brackett as screenwriter. We really liked all three.
