Confusing plot - it doesn't seem to have consistency to what it wants to achieve. The ending seems supposed to be a cliffhanger but didn't leave viewers with anything to be wondering for. Some scenes are wasted with talks that gives neither character development nor plot progression. The acting and visuals were good, though it doesn't save the movie from its flaws.
As a Bible-believing Christian, I wanted to roll my eyes, brush my hands, and walk away from about 99% of this film. It's completely ludicrous, and almost makes a mockery of Scripture and of God Himself. God destroyed the earth - and all that was in it - once, through the great Flood; God will once again destroy the earth and all life at the "end of time", but it will be through fire...not a legion of warrior angels that come down to destroy humanity because God "lost faith" in man. So yes, 99% of this film is completely ridiculous and almost offensive to any God-fearing Christian who knows their Bible. On the other hand, though, as a movie I thought this was quite enjoyable. Far-fetched? Of course. But duh... what movie ISN'T far-fetched and unbelievable? Giant spiders that whistle and mimic parrots? Or giant gorillas that are worshipped by some as-yet-undiscovered tribe of people on an island somewhere? Possessed dolls that kill people? Serial killers wearing hockey masks that never die, no matter what you do to them? Or cars running at 90mph through crowded freeways, missing everything that stands in their way while the cops trail closely behind them? The bottom line is, all movies require you to unhinge your mind and just sit back and be entertained. Occasionally, yes, you run across the really great movie "based on a true story", etc etc and those can (sometimes) be even better. For the most part, however, movies just require you to disengage and enjoy play-acting on a screen like folks used to enjoy play-acting on a stage. _Legion_ was no different: You can get offended and turn it off if it doesn't suit you, but I found this to be a decent and entertaining action movie with a weird kind of fantasy twist to it. At only 100 minutes of runtime (and that's including credits), this was easily watchable and again, just (IMO) a good action movie with a weird fantasy twist to it. There was absolutely nothing here that was "based on Scripture"; in fact, most of this is almost anti-Biblical so if you want to get offended about it, there's plenty to get your hackles up about. As a movie, though, I thought this was very entertaining and certainly short enjoy to merit sitting through. If you get upset about things that don't exactly square with your Bible, though, then you're definitely gonna want to give this one a pass. Far-fetched, fantastical, and in places, downright silly...but still watchable for fans of action movies.
Hmmm...Legion let's see...filthy-mouthed spider Granny. I remember that. Oh yeah, weird Ice Cream Man...that was kinda cool. Ummm...ahhh. I think I stayed awake when I watched this but I can't remember a danged thing about it. I guess there was a battle between a good angel and a battle angel that wouldn't end. There was some run-of-the-mill CGI. There was nothing scary in the least. Just skip this and watch "The Exorcist" again.
So for all of you that love to be simply entertained and want a thriller, action, even part horror film then absolutely treat yourself to Legion and avoid trying to pick it apart. It's a solid action trick.
So many clichés it's almost funny and the plot is horrible. I know it had been given quite bleak reviews, but had to try it as I like the theme. It's not good though, so no loss in skipping it, but ok entertainment.
