The documentary creators did a good job in stroking ray’s ego and really show the scumbag side of him. He probably thought the documentary was gonna be good for him but the way they made it will probably get Ray killed. I’m sure one of the investors who lost money will eventually go postal on him.

It seems that this is a movie more like "The Wolf of Wall Street," which aims to expose a criminal but ends up promoting them. Why not focus on those who produce and contribute instead of just addressing these societal parasites? In Ecuador, there is a case exemplifying this with the Attorney General Diana Salazar, who is risking her life by bringing to light the drug traffickers and their associates.

Not as stylish as it thinks it is, but almost as slick. It’s a brisk doc that gets the point across. You hate Ray but a part of you has to respect the hustle, the audacity and willingness to game a system that is nothing but this story, again and again. Why get mad at him instead of the whole thing? The doc gestures at this with a condemnation of cryptocurrency but won’t go further than that, of course. Ray’s pointing out of how impossible it is to get a house as a single young person in this time compared to your parents is framed only as self serving excuses, and it is, of course, but there’s a doc that could run with it to a condemnation of capitalism itself and the American idealization of it. This is not that doc, but it’s a good time for the runtime.
