Just finished watching **Anniversary** and honestly, this movie proves what nobody wants to admit: the far-left and far-right are basically long-lost twins who pretend they’re mortal enemies but secretly shop at the same authoritarian outlet mall. The film never pins down a specific ideology and it sidesteps labels so gracefully it should count as cardio, but that is exactly why it works. It shows that when you wander too far from the centre, you don’t find enlightenment… you find all the extremists hanging out together at the bottom of the political circle like it is a weird ideological hot tub. The result is a smart, unsettling, surprisingly funny reminder that extremism, no matter the flavour, starts sounding like everyone studied from the same How to Ruin a Society script. Great performances, great tension, and 9 out of 10 for making me rethink every family gathering ever.

If you're up-to-date on the news, and I mean the news that covers objective reality (not Fox), this will be a rough watch. I see many reviewers praising the film with their comments, then rating it a 3.5. It's certainly not an enjoyable watch. This is an intellectual thriller with overt tones of horror, mostly because of how spot on it mirrors reality. And if you're hoping it at least has a happy ending, unfortunately that part also mirrors our current reality. From a technical standpoint, this was acted and directed well. Ok, maybe not the "NAME THE DOG!!!" scene, but the lead actress was phenomenal. The Catch-22 to this film is, the people who understand it don't really need to see it, and the people who really need to see it wouldn't understand it. That's how we ended up with "The Change" (Project 2025) ruining our country.

A thrilling film from start to finish,loved seeing the liberal family getting taken apart over the years and how it all ended for them. I guess Lionsgate buried this (the pussies) because they realized the liberal Mafia would take offence to this (there is nothing in this world that doesn't offend them)

Feel bad for the dad. His whole family suuuuuucked.

This ended up being just unbelievably weird. This ended on some sort of cliffhanger which leaves you dissatisfied. I didn't find the majority of the film satisfying for it was a lot of talking and jumping about. The thrilling things start to happen in the latter 40 minutes of the movie but by then I'd already check out. Disappointed unfortunately.
