Good for her! Palpatine wasn't the only toxic relationship in Rey's life as it turns out and some motherfuckers you can manage without even using the force. The relationship, betrayals and psychological aspects are nothing new and quite straightforward but it's all about figuring out what Daisy Ridley's game is the whole movie and I didn't see that twist coming at all.

This is a good drama of a young woman who found the truth and made a point of it—well done!

Shazad Latif plays the slimiest mf ever I swear

At this point in my movie reviewing "career", I have reviewed almost two thousand titles. Of all of the movies that I have watched in that time, I don't know if I had the sheets pulled over my head like I did with this movie. This movie was an absolute slog until the last 3 minutes, and then it became brilliant. This isn't normally the type of drama I'd watch, but I'm glad I gave it a shot. Daisy Ridley plays struggling mother and emotionally cold amazingly well. The movie wraps up with a really satisfying finish.
