At least it's over. We have The Lord of the Rings, The Before Films, the original Star Wars films, and the Sergio Leone films as the best trilogies ever. Well, these three Stranger films are the complete opposite - one of the worst trilogies. Has there ever been a terrible trilogy of films before? Why does this even exist? What the fuck was the point of this? Why stretch it out into three movies when it could have easily been one? So, we get to see the killer's backstory and the unmasking. Because, you know, the scariest part of all horror movies is when they explain everything. At this point, no one cares about these movies.
Ooooh I'm sooooo PROTAGONIST! I make the killer fall in love with meee and then I stab him! I'm sooo cool!
The trilogy might have been ok on its own, but it's like trying to spread the Mona Lisa into three separate paintings. The original was a masterpiece of the fear of just being attacked at home on a random person's whim. This tries and fails to make it deeper and kills the fear. Just watch the original.
surely financial gains couldn't have been enough of a motivator to run the strangers franchise into the ground by trying really hard to give the group of mysterious, unknown killers, which, because of their randomness and mystery were scary enough, personality??
Sooo it’s the end of this trilogy. How do I feel? Empty?♀ I watched 3 movies. It’s seemed a bit repetitive. Plenty of jump scares. Which is the cheapest form of a reaction. It’s impulsive. A loud sound and you are gonna jump. I do like how they had back stories of all the other characters. And we get to see their faces. The ending had a twist. But you will have to watch to find out. I guess it’s a letter better than half. So I’ll give it a 3.5 to 4 out of 5. Just wished that some of the stupid decisions were avoided. But what kind of movie would that be.
