A perfect movie of its era. The structure makes sense and never lags or dawdles. The leads are perfect, charming, and irresistibly attractive. It's witty, smart, and fun to watch. I love this movie.

The first to win all five major Oscars and it shows. Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert are great together. The story is entertaining and funny.

What a gem this movie is. It's 2025 and the relationship between those two still holds true. Beautiful thing to witness people, for the most part, are immutable.

It Happened One Night is up there for me as one of the greatest films ever made and you know that it’s so good that it one of three films to sweep the Big Five in the Oscars. This is pretty much peak Frank Capra film and is also one of the best work he directed alongside the Mr. Smith film and Its a Wonderful Life. Clark Gamble is just pretty damn good here and it wouldn’t be the same without him and his on screen chemistry with Claudette Colbert.
