**Hilarious show with some great history and appropriate issues brought up** Really enjoyed this show from the start so hilarious covers their family history of how there ancestors battled slavery and racism. Then in their generation still having to deal with racism too really brings some home truths this show and how we should accept and respect everyone no matter what.also treating them equal as well ten out of ten for this show looking forward to a season 2.

I guess Ill be the common sense of the comment section on this one. The show is not terrible and it is not a number 1 hit series but it is a good show; if you are from the black community it shows the growth of our people from the old days and old parenting ways into the new modern days an new parenting ways; not only that but in makes sure to include open mindedness from elders and the young which in general our community most of the time doesn't have we are generally separate in our thinking and this show does a great job in bringing that to light. The type of comedy presented in the show is more of the family type of comedy; something you would get from Disney channel/Comedy Central mix if you don't have to be forced to laugh then you will have alot of them. What the show also does well is portray our modern day issues comparative to the pass and shows how even though we are living in a new day some outdated ideology"Rasicm" still follow us to today and how it can have an effect on not only our youth but the parents who have to raise kids in modern day society. All in all overall good job.

I'm not a fan of this type of show but once in awhile one charms me into watching and enjoying despite my darker sense of humor. This is one of those shows. My Ratings 10 - I love it, regardless of quality 9 - Very good, might not love but very well done or might love, forgiving some issues 8 - Very enjoyable or Just OK for me but well done 7 - Good 6 - Watchable despite not liking the film/show 5 - Mid 3-4 - Not great, but got through it 1-2 - Very bad/You might be a communist if you like this garbage

Hate it! The acting is horrible. The jokes are corny. The holier than thou preachy message is just too much. I made it through four episodes, and I just can’t take anymore of it. Can’t believe Netflix cancelled One Day at a Time and picked up this conservative trash.
