Ana de las Tejas Verdes (赤毛のアン Akage no an?, "Ana del cabello rojo") es una serie de anime basada en la novela Anne of Green Gables ("Ana de las Tejas Verdes") de Lucy Maud Montgomery. La serie fue emitida originalmente en Japón en el año 1979, parte del contenedor infantil World Masterpiece Theater o Meisaku de Nippon Animation. El contenedor había antes y después producido una gran variedad de series de animación basadas en diferentes obras literarias infantiles; entre ellas estaban "Sin familia" (1978) y "Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer" (1980). En España, la serie fue emitida a través de Tele 5. En conmemoración del trigésimo aniversario desde el estreno de la serie y centenario desde la publicación de la novela original, para abril de 2009 Nippon Animation estrenó una precuela de la historia titulada Konnichiwa Anne: Before Green Gables ("Antes de las Tejas Verdes").

A magnificient coming of age story that's remain one of the best WMT ever made. Sublime animation, touching and well written story, solid character devoppement made it stand the test of time pretty well. Isao Takahata finest realisation in the 70's.
I'm not sure why I had this anime on my to-watch list, but now I'm glad it was there. This is one of the most beautiful shows I have ever seen in my life, and it also made me cry more than I have ever cried over any show in my entire life. It's so simple, pure and innocent, the characters are easily the most lovable I have come across. I will think about this show for months to come, and [spoiler] my heart will ache and I will cry for days to come as well [/spoiler].
