I would describe this as a psychological drama with erotic thriller vibes. Kiernan Shipka steals the show she is magnetising. The episodes are short and overall this feels like a movie. The ending is not that great though especially if they don't plan on a second season.
I really enjoyed the first 3 episodes but didn't like how it turned mid-season.
This was odd, strange, quirky, and good.
In spite of how repetitive and derivative it is. The opening to this series is excellent. We've seen these beats before. Some of them we've been watching since Single White Female. But they're done with gravitas here. Just beautifully done. It's why it's so unfortunate that when it comes time to steer the ship now that it's at sea. The whole thing kinda just flubs around. I don't often say this but I think this is one of the rare examples where we got too _much_ time with the characters. It's certainly not the acting. We've seen them do the thing in the opening. But in a movie maybe we'd trim a few of the beats at the opening. Maybe drop a character or two but it would still be tight and it would force them to tighten up the ending maybe even foreshadow better.
Had a lot of potential. Amazing performance by Kiernan but that ending...was expecting much more.
