_Bachelorette_ is yet another failed _Hangover_ wannabe that doesn’t have enough charm or charisma to pull off a raunch comedy. The story follows a former high school clique that gets back together when one of them gets engaged. The film stars Kirsten Dunst, Lizzy Caplan, Isla Fisher, and Adam Scott, who all give pretty good performances. Most of the comedy’s hit and miss, but there’s some clever satire and insightful commentary on post high school friendships and midlife struggles. A slapdash comedy, _Bachelorette_ is unfocused and callous, but it’s able to deliver some laughs.
The Good: - There is a couple of sequences that are somewhat funny and help classify this movie as a comedy. The Bad: - _Bachelorette_ is a tiresome comedy; it is neither funny nor particularly inventive. - The script is built upon endless amounts of comedy film clichés. - A good majority of the jokes revolve around such mature subjects as genitalia, substance abuse, strippers and bulimia. - Probably on of **Kirsten Dunst's** worst performances in a long time. - It is excessively hysterical and over the top all of the time, so it actually becomes very tiresome to watch after a while. - The story is very predictable - we have seen this subject and this story progression done several times before (and usually a lot better). - Overall, there is little to no reason to re-watch this very boring comedy.
_Bachelorette_ > _Bridesmaids_. Great, super underrated film.
This movie is dumb, boring and one of the worst experiences I've ever made.
I think that a lot of people are sleeping on this film. For what it is, it's really well done and wickedly funny. There are some great bits in this film, and Lizzy Caplan was brilliant.
