As with the characters in this film, American Wedding is more grown up then the previous two films. It's less raunchy, and more heart filled than its predecessors. Missing from American Wedding is half the cast from the first two films without a mention to them in the film, but the film still remains to have its hilarious moments without them. Stifler, has a bigger role in this film, while others take a back seat this time. I enjoyed watching Stifler and Finch swap roles trying to win over Michelle's sister. It was enjoyable and entertaining, a nice end to the original trilogy.

This movie can be difficult to watch at times, but also has it's moments. Although this movie is at it's best when it's not a trying to be a comedy because the humor in this film is just unoriginal, lazy, and just not funny anymore for a third film in the franchise. Surprisingly it has it's sweet moments but still a mess that could easily be skipped.

Original trilogy closed with dignity. The wedding format works as a perfect excuse to reunite all characters and offer well-executed fanservice without falling into empty self-indulgence. The humor maintains the spirit of the previous films, with that balance between crude and endearing that defined the saga. The characters have matured just enough for their arcs to feel believable without losing the essence that made them funny. The pacing works well, alternating comedic sequences with more emotional moments that surprise with their effectiveness.

Probably the best movie in the series, it provides all the dirty humor you would expect from the American Pie movies but adds scenes that are very sweet as well.

Onto movie #3 in the series. The marathon continues!!!!
