Why is no one talking about how unbelievably weird this movie is?

This may have been edgy and proactive back in the day, but it's pretty tame by today's standards. Once you peel away the shock value, you're left with a pretty average film that doesn't live up to the hype. This isn't nearly as deep or profound as some are making it out to be. Most elements are cartoonishly over-exaggerated like the ridiculous villain, it would be hard to miss the overall theme.... especially after spelling it out at the end with the robins. I don't regret the watch, but it wasn't good enough to recommend to others. The subject matter is timeless, but the film itself didn't hold up as well. It just kind of drags along.
