An offbeat drama about addiction and 'being high' or an actual sci-fi horror movie? It's a bit of both, being a cross between They Live, Starman, Under the Skin, and Trainspotting! A real one-off that is not for all tastes but for those that do succumb to its psychedelic sensibilities, there is something quite special here.

Streamed via Shudder What did I just watch?! That insane ride was something I didn't anticipate. I don't know how to explain this film. It reminds me of films like Mandy & Enter the Void. Very weird, unique, fresh, trippy, and fun sci-fi horror that tells a story about Barry, a lowlife drug addict who is abducted and then possesed by an alien. As his body is being controlled by the unknown, he roams Cape Town, observes the human life, and discovers the beauty and ugliness of it. There's not much to the story but I'm really drawn to it from start to finish. The lead is excellent! His gestures and facial expressions are spot-on. The 18 warning intro was a nice touch and I didn't expect that interlude. The sound is phenomenal. I liked everything about it.

Don't listen to the lil chidrenz on here..Barry..is...pure Gold... What.. in thee faq..did I.. just watch bahahaha do NOT shut this off too soon lol it is worth watching entirely...far too many wtf moments to miss and definitely worth a rewatch .. Barry rules!
