Despite being a musical and all the fun songs and dance that go along with it, it also addresses some pretty serious issues. The fear of war, the draft, patriotism, and finding courage to do the right thing. It doesn't shy away from the fears many men had when facing a draft and world war. It's definitely not your typical care-free musical.
