Such an improbable plot. Why on earth would you do anything for somebody you just met, who is obviously mixed up with the Russian mob? Especially if your wife is a successful lawyer

This was an amazing spy thriller with an somewhat cliche ending, but truth be told, anyone that's a spy film enthusiast would expect the ending. The fact it exposes how easily one corrupt person can create tentacles to corrupt others is evident at the end and that's something we pretend doesn't happen while deep down we all know it does. Probably an excellent reason MI5, MI6, CIA and other former intelligence agents should never be allowed to run for political office. Their only motivation to do so would be they know way, way more than they should about the corruption in the world and those in true service wouldn't want to exploit that knowledge. Thought provoking and an exceptional cast. 9.5/10

Usually I’m not one for spy movies, and this isn’t your conventional one. It was interesting seeing this from the perspective of a civilian, especially one who’s brought in, maybe partially by intrigue, but mostly from a polite inability to say no. I hit this on a Ewan filmography watch and Stellan and Naomi were pleasant surprises. This kept me hooked and interested but the idea of a stranger going as far as Ewan’s character does is a bit hard to wrap my head around. Granted, the story does do a good job of showing what a stand-up guy he is, how he’s willing to go farther than he should to help anyone out in multiple situations, but it still seems hard to think of laying your life down for a member of the Russian mob you met once. I will say though, it’s a hell of a way to try and mend the relationship between you and your wife.

Good espionage type movie. Worth watching for sure. Solid movie. 8.5/10 Watched it on Netflix and there was no subtitles when the Russians spoke which was very annoying especially at the beginning of the movie.

This is a good spy film that I had never heard of. They're always better when you just discover them. Anyone looking for a John Le Carre thriller won't be disappointed with this. The kind of thing that I have to be in the mood for, but very well done with a great cast.
