What a throwback. This would have been right at home during the '80s or '90s, but 2007? Come on. Maybe since _Saw_ (2004) come out just a few years before this, it seemed like a good idea. Look, don't let the plot fool you, this is not _Saw_, this is a slasher movie, through and through. In fact, this is a holiday-set slasher with a silent, masked killer. Have you seen _Terror Train_ (1980) or _Valentine_ (2001)? Yeah, basically the same. Not very many New Year's Eve slasher movies, so it does have that going for it. Really, the only reason I wanted to watch this was for Annabelle Wallis,
and I almost turned this off when she died first.
The kills are all pretty boring. The camera work is bad. The editing is a total mess in some parts. I can't recommend this, but that's not to say it's bad. If you really like slasher movies with a heavy does of mystery to them, and you want one set during New Year... well, that's odd, but you're in luck - sort of.
