Great and funny movie by David Lean

It seems to me that the Book of Job underlies the story in parts. As well as a Dickensian feel. Such as the Comforters in the pub, but there were other more explicit references. That scene where he drunkenly stumbles through the puddles chasing after the Moon was etched into my memory as a kid, and whenever it came on TV I had to watch.
