Why do you build characters in a story, that are all completely useless in the end? Why even write a whodunnit story and then end it like any action movie? Why even write, when you don't know how to end a story at all? Oh boy....The last third was the definition of "missed opportunities" and that's what differentiates a decent movie/book/story from crap.
This movie was clearly written by chatGPT
What starts as a rather slick and shiny whodunit thriller quickly devolves into melodramatic pulp with a righteous message. It all comes off a little juvenile and idealistic, especially given the subject matter of corruption and corporate evil. That's not to say I didn't enjoy the first hour of the stage being set and the mystery unraveling, it's just sorely let down by a third act that jumps many guns to sweep up the crumbs and get to its hasty conclusion.
Hmmn. The British cannot make movies and this just proved it. Yes It is crap!
Good cast and acting, but the plot was way too predictable. I figured out what happened right away and spent the rest of the movie annoyed at Lo for not using her brains. The rest of the cast is useless as if they were just some extras in the background except for Ben, but he was a bit dumb-dumb as well, going around and telling everyone about Lo's private matters. I haven't read the book, so I don't know if the mystery was crafted better there, but this whodunnit movie isn't that particularly interesting when it's too obvious what's going on.
