It turned out to be quite bad, but slowness and shortness of dialogues really are the least of this movie's flaws. Scrappy writing, emotional moments that don't hit the mark, "Max" repeated every 4 words when Wilson interacts with him, Fanny Ardant's English acting (seemingly not feeling confortable in her delivery), a couple of questionable wide shots, [spoiler] that CGI ship moment [/spoiler], Ryan's whole unnecessary presence, Gloria's forced carefreee behaviour in certain moments ([spoiler] maybe meant to clumsily show livelihood in contrast to her later fate? [/spoiler]), [spoiler] that scene when he unveils his cards and she starts swearing for 10 seconds too long and the shot is kept 2 seconds after she got out of frame [/spoiler], [spoiler] that final disappearing shot [/spoiler]

Because of pacing and limited dialog, this movie won't be for everyone. For much of the movie, we think we know the man on screen. Like the American Star, he is a man that is considering a resting spot. The last ten minutes of the movie puts a different lens on the movie, but the more I think about it, it is consistent with the earlier parts of the movie. 7-10 good This movie isn’t for ever one, it’s very slow, has little dialogue and not for those that have to have something happening every 5 minutes. How ever, if you like a thought provoking storyline that slowly unfolds and allows you to use your brain, then your enjoy this movie as I did…. It’s definitely a one time watch mind you, but if someone else wants to watch it later on, you wouldn’t mind watching it again….
