If Halloween was made as if it was a Scream movie. With even the same musical score. This Michael is the least intimidating as well. Though I always found the movie entertaining. With Jamie Lee Curtis in good form.
>"Michael Myers... yeah, right!" People hate on Josh Hartnett, but after watching the last 3 Halloween movies that came out before this, this movie is a huge step up. Michael Myers drank some caffeine and seems more energetic in this movie. I like that Laurie had some strong moments in this, and got her heroine moment.
'Halloween H20', (such a stupid title) is a decent attempt of giving life to a tired franchise and bringing some closure, which later got ruined by 'Resurrection' However, this movie aged really poorly, in my opinion. A lot of cheesy and annoying fake scares that got repetitive really quick. How many times can people walk into each other or grab shoulders. Basically a 90's slasher movie. Still, Jamie Lee Curtis is fire.
Jamie Lee Curtis returns for _Halloween H2O: 20 Years Later_ in an attempt to save the franchise. Having faked her death and changed her name Laurie Strode has built a new life in California, but she still lives in fear of Michael Myers, knowing that one day he’ll return. Featuring an all-star cast that includes Jamie Lee Curtis, Michelle Williams, Josh Hartnett, and LL Cool J, the performances are fairly good. However, the continuity changes from the previous films are hard to rectify, and the plot isn’t really that interesting. Still, the kill sequences are intense and well-shot. While it pulls the series back from the brink of insanity, _Halloween H2O: 20 Year Later_ isn’t quite able to rekindle the spark that started it all.
This is the best Halloween film since the 3rd and I'm still only giving it 4/10 I think you can tell where I’m at with franchise, I’m normally quite fair with my ratings but with the Halloween films I just have to he honest there trash for me after the 3rd movie. This should of been so much better with Jamie Lee Curtis back but come on apart from the opening part what happened in the first hour oh yeah absolutely nothing and the way Laurie was acting already nervous about Michael turning up was really silly to me of course she’s going to have trauma even 20 years after it happened but the way they did this was just so stupid to me. The last 20 minutes was what this film should of been like so much more interesting stuff actually happening, Michael’s didn’t have many kills that stand out except from the part where the lift drops on the girls leg tough watch that was, but then some of the characters decision making was Questionable like the security guy opening the gate to check the car out and not keeping a eye on if anyone was going through, and John and his girlfriend dropped the keys and they literally had time open the gate and get them Michael walks like a old man so what was they worrying about. The showdown between Laurie and Michael was decent enough aswell don’t ask me how the heck was the security guy alive lol. Finally we got to end with Laurie driving Michael away knowing he’s going to come back again all of these scenes were the done well with Laurie driving Michael off a cliff and the ending is what should of happened many sequels ago but yeah we’ve got resurrection next can’t wait for the ridiculous reason to reason why headless Nick is back. 4/10
