Maharaja is a film that will keep the audience hooked on their seat. Maharaja, it's an emotional rollercoaster fuelled by vengeance and unexpected twists. The acting, direction, writing, editing, screenplay, music, and all other departments have done superb job to the story. 10❤- Masterpiece 💯 9❤- Excellent 8❤ - Amazing 👌 7❤- Great 🌞 6❤ - Good 👍 5❤ - Average 🤕 4❤ - Bad but watchable :octagonal_sign: 3❤ - Bad 😭 2😡- Awful :face_vomiting: 1:face_with_symbols_over_mouth: - Bull Shit
Wow. I don't know what to say. This is the kind of writing cinema is all about. A mirror to portray our self reflection. The movie started with a single word, "Laxmi" and throughout the movie for the most of it, the word "Laxmi" holds no significance to the world. The foreshadowing of Laxmi, a name given to a dustbin that happened to save someone's daughter. The film is all about the hypocrisy and the significance the word "Laxmi" holds. Just like in the story, we as society treat our daughter and every other woman as a bin only. A lifeless body meant to be used to discard tantrums of the "men" society but mind my inclusion, Laxmi in our world is treated like a waste bin unless and until it's about our home's Laxmi. Someone's daughter, Someone's mother, someone's sister, someone's wife only hold their importance when it's about our world. People we call family but apart from that, the rest of the world's "Laxmi" is nothing but a dustbin. Just like how the rest of the police station treated Maharaj's case is a brilliant irony and foreshadowing to our world. I don't see any difference. The entire story revolves around the missing "Laxmi" that no one gives a fuck about. Vijay and Anurag Kashyap man, take a bow. Specially, Anurag as actor is a different gravy. The portrayal of "Maharaja" and how he lived upto his name is beyond brilliance. The film was all about the writing and the acting. I won't spoil the climax or anything, but if you think the film is about it's "Laxmi" and we as an awfulsociety playing no part here then, you are probably watching a different film. Still not over the screams from the climax and that one thing the film is all about, "It won't hurt you, you won't even look at it and you may hurt it until and unless, it's yours and that's where the problem lies" Masterpiece.
The number of holy shit moments here is a testament to a great story telling and casts involved. There a few scenes that are way too long but the entire experience makes it forgiving.
This must be the best Indian movie I have ever watched. It mixes a few genres (comedy, action, thriller) in a balanced way. I'm glad I watched it till the end cause in my opinion the movie improves as it goes.
