Not as good as the first movie, as the sequel suffers from pacing issues, but the action scenes are still jaw-dropping. Jackie Chan, the cast, and the crew all deserve massive praise for their efforts.

The plot is not as good as the first one. The pace isn't as tight and the humor is too broad this time. Still, it has its moments.

Ranked: Jackie Chan Police Story 2 tries to be your typical sequel. Everything must be bigger. Bigger explosions, more action, bigger bad guys. But somehow it doesn't really work in its favor. I still enjoy the heck of it but some parts still drag on a bit for me. Especially the surveillance bit. Anyway you still get your fun scenes with the great Maggie Cheung, Bill Tung is still loads of fun, the stunts are great, the playground fight is brutal and it ends on one hell of an explosion. And luckily for me, part 3 is a huge step up again!

I might be the only person who thinks this, but this film is so much better because it just ups the stakes in every single way and I was on the edge of my set the entire time. Jackie is awesome in this and his direction never misses a beat, might be one of my favourite films by him as it delivers in action, story, laughs and even emotion. Also, the story is ahead of its time in my opinion and I can't recommend it enough.

starting of the movie, people wasn't so concern about bomb threat because this movie was firmed before 911 incident. if this was firmed after 911, rating and reception of this movie will be very different.
