_Lost Souls_ is a dark and suspenseful thriller that explores the battle between good and evil. The story follows an exorcist who attempts to save a man who has been marked to be Satan’s vessel so that he can take human form. Winona Ryder and Ben Chaplin lead the cast and give solid performances. And, the film’s gritty visual aesthetic and foreboding atmospheric helps to create tension. Also, while the material is fairly derivative, there are several interesting twists and turns that gives the story some additional intrigue and edginess. It has some weaknesses, but overall _Lost Souls_ is a hauntingly chilling supernatural thriller.
