Damages is an American legal thriller television series created by the writing and production trio of Daniel Zelman and brothers Glenn and Todd A. Kessler. The plot revolves around the brilliant, ruthless lawyer Patty Hewes and her protégée, recent law school graduate Ellen Parsons. Each season features a major case that Hewes and her firm take on, while also examining a chapter of the complicated relationship between Ellen and Patty. The first two seasons center around the law firm Hewes & Associates. Later seasons center more on Patty and Ellen's relationship as Ellen begins to distance herself from Hewes & Associates and begins an independent career.

The manipulation of lives, so deft, as to be terrifying. This was a revisit of DAMAGES for me, I first watched this series when it was new, but I'd forgotten the story arch, although the fierce carnage of the characters never really leaves you (which, I think, speaks to the superb writing and performances). Twists and reveals that aren't predictable. Nothing is as it seems. No one is who you think. Great casting and performances. A mystery that keeps your attention throughout - never a false step, never a complacent moment (although, with the same emotional arch in each season and a learned reluctance to trust what is being shown does lead to some viewer disillusionment by making the unpredictable expected). I give this series an 8 (great) out of 10. [Legal Drama]

Wow. Those were some of the best 5 seasons of television I've ever seen. Was originally worried about the DirecTV change but nope, that season was great and the final season was even better. Fantastic show, highly recommended and jesus christ I wish they'd release this all on blu ray..
Bad script and bad acting. Story would fit in 5 minutes per episode
I hate the fast-forward and flashback all the time. It would be better if that wasn't a part of the show.
