My name is Earl has to come back! We deserve a good ending of the show... Its unfair saying to be continued and then they suddenly stop the serie to make place for new ones... Earl teached us all wise lessons... I have one for NBC too Finnish something before u start on something else... what an (*$#@!&$ so unfair...

We could ALL learn from Earl

According to Garcia and others connected with the production of the show, NBC had renewed the show, and nobody had any reason not to end the season on a big, fat cliffhanger. Unfortunately, due to a miscommunication between NBC and the production company that produced _My Name is Earl_, somehow a contract didn't get signed and the production company didn't fix it before the executive at NBC said, "Screw it," and cancelled the show. By the time the production company figured out what had happened, NBC had stopped all payments and moved on, and that was it. Greg Garcia had to go to set and thank hundreds of people on the cast and crew for their work, but they literally had to clear out of the building as soon as possible. Everyone was shocked and sad, but alas, there was nothing that could have been done at that time. Garcia did give us a clue on the eventual end of the show. He always planned for someone to show up in Earl's life with their own karma list, which he was on, and they wanted to make things right with him. Earl, surprised that someone was doing for him what he'd been doing for others, would have been even more shocked to find out that the person with their own list wasn't directly inspired by him, but rather, was inspired to make their own list by someone who told them about Earl's list. At that point, Earl would have realized that with more people than him making their own karma lists to make things right, he'd finally put more good into the universe than bad, and therefore he was finished with his list. It would have been a very sweet and satisfying end to a very sweet and inspiring sitcom.
