Why do black comedians always have to talk about what it feels like "being back in a white mans world"? Let the comedy speak for itself, I hate when comedians have to make things about race to get a few laughs.. Never see this from white comedians. Other than that, not a bad show. Watch it all the time. BUT!! I just hate when shows like these are like.. "We back", "as a African American", "Having a white friend", "White people always like".. ect ect ect IN EVERY EPISODE!!!! WE GET IT, YOU'RE BLACK!!! NOBODY CARES!!!! LET IT DIE!!!
A solid sketch comedy show. Has its share of ups and downs, but is pretty consistent between all of its seasons. A few top-tier sketches in each season, but a lot of dry ones along the way as well. Par for the course for this type of show, but still something to be aware of. Both comedians play a wide range of characters, which is pretty entertaining in and of itself. (+) Smart, funny sketches that can be really goofy at times (+) Solid flow for sketch and stand-up material (+) Creative, wide range of sketch material (=) Repetitive structures of jokes, specifically referring to race (blacks vs. whites) (-) Some really terrible sketches that felt more like filler (-) Episodes can at times drag on for too long Final Verdict: 7/10 (Good)
I just love this show and how smart and stupid it is, this show is one of the funniest tv shows that i have ever watched and probably will ever see.
Unrivaled Classics by some of the best comedians of all time!
"Key & Peele" didn't really make me laugh that often, as I would have expected from a sketch comedy show. To count how many times I've really laughed, I don't need more than two hands. Unfortunately, in most cases, there was simply not much more than a smile to be had. In addition, the decision was made to completely omit the moderation element in season 4 & 5 and to replace it with cutscenes in which Key & Peele just have conversations in a car, which I thought was a shame because it took a lot of the show's character away. The show was entertaining nonetheless, but I had higher expectations from such a highly acclaimed show...
