très magnifique. Beautifully filmed, beautifully acted, beautifully executed. I wish there was a second season.
A series that makes a co-star of a secondary character, who was better portrayed in **Yves Saint Laurent** (Jalil Lespert, 2014) as a dark and manipulative careerist, and that in reality explains nothing about Karl Lagerfeld's professional career and very little about his private life. Which finally makes the story have a soap opera tone that seems more interested in the couturier's platonic love than in his relevance as an artist. And despite taking place in a complex decade marked by the expansion of the AIDS epidemic, it never explains anything about the context.
Very well executed show with beautiful pictures and great characters! I think it shows very well the character of Karl Lagerfeld and how he became the man he was. I was struggling a bit in the beginning, because that was not the Karl Lagerfeld, which became famous, but at the end you could really get the Karl Lagerfeld vibes and his actor is really gorgeous! Wish, there will be a second season.
A show focusing on his relationship with the abusive Jacques and skip the overall development of his talent. This story is about Becoming the righteous man he wasn't and not the Artist we know.
