I really like Anna Torv’s acting. I’ve only ever seen her on screen with an American accent before this, so it’s fun hearing her Aussie accent and colloquialisms.

First season was excellent, then it started to veer to much into 'soap opera'. The second season was manageable, but by the third season, I found myself skipping through many parts of it.

I watched season 3 and after the first episode I was convinced I'd seen at least one episode from the previous seasons. I'll be watching seasons 2 and three as season 3 was wonderful.

Nobody’s fully likeable, nobody fully gets what they deserve, nobody’s perfect.

Although its central axis is the relationship established between two television presenters, the series manages to avoid the danger of becoming a simple sentimental drama with a tendency towards a soap opera, like "The morning show", incorporating a broader look at events relevant in the eighties. Some of them may seem somewhat distant or unknown, but they are used skillfully to introduce more universal reflections such as journalistic ethics or Aboriginal claims regarding the commemoration of the bicentennial of the European invasion. Good pacing and interesting characters raise the bar.
