This show has a serviceable but completely run-of-the-mill plot. The main couple is reasonably fun without a huge power differential. But the true highlight of the series is the second female lead (Yang Haesun, the former fox), who absolutely kills it with her character and makes the second couple dynamics hilarious, while also having a fantastic friendship with the male MC. However, they often say that a series is only as good as its villains. And the "antagonist" (the love rival for the MC) is so annoying and one-dimensional that he drags the whole show down whenever he is on screen, which is a lot. I wanted to rate the series better, because often it's genuinely funny, but it's impossible while the central "conflict" is so badly written.

Clearly not the best Rom-Com we've watched but and a big BUT this has really good moments and overall was a good drama! I was dying to rate this higher because I belive in Hyeri and Dowan's supremacy but honestly [spoiler] I still don't know wth was doing Sunwoo on this story, he has no relevancy at all neither as a third wheel nor "villain", we didn't even believe for a second Lee Dam will end up with him, I could not belive such a filler main character ever exist.[/spoiler]

Okay wow.. that was a roller coaster. I don't think I've binged a drama this fast in a while. Firstly, the main leads have absolutely gorgeous pearly white teeth and I loved seeing them smile.. if you know you know. Also, I would've rated this a 10 if the plot wasn't so random at times because the main leads chemistry was absolutely PERFECT, with the second lead couple on par- I could watch a whole separate show for them. You rarely come across K-actor couples with such good chemistry and don't get me started on the steamy scenes! I loved how Dam was introduced, I was so blown away by the fact that one of the two girls dragging the drunk guy home was literally the main character, it was kinda refreshing. Adding on to that, the way the drama portrays male-female friendships feels so realistic because so many dramas push the "men and women can't be friends" agenda which is absolutely not true and although they do often catch feelings for each other, it isn't always the case and it feels more like a conservative idea. My other issue with the show was Seonwoo (which I'll get to later), and the fact that the crush Sookyung had was on Jaejin even though a romance between her and the senior was heavily implied throughout. Although funny, it felt a little underwhelming and the cliché scene with them in the last 3 minutes infuriated me thinking about what we could've had all these episodes, they absolutely would've been a great ship. Also, I know Kdramas tend to make the female lead depend on the male lead so much to the point she entirely forgets about her friends, but it felt so out-of-character to drop everything for this man who's only dream was to become human, but I did like how she was very self-aware and kept herself and Wooyeo in check as well. Honestly, he's quite the catch and not just for that absolutely ridiculously huge mansion. I wish that she was a bit more career-oriented because she's already so badass and she kept talking about raising her GPA (which wasn't even low) and about how she loved history so much, but that storyline was completely forgotten I guess. The ending didn't feel rushed but there were just a lot of things that I wish they incorporated. Not only that, I wish we could've gotten a scene where Dam also could've told her family about how he was a gumiho just to get that out of the way if it comes up again in the future and possibly even a wedding scene which would honestly just be fanservice considering that VERY happy ending (one of my top Kdrama endings for sure). I want more lore with the mountain spirit, and more about their lives in the past centuries and that random evil spirit that showed up. And then Seonwoo.. don't even get me started. I despised him initially because the man was playing victim even though he was an asshole and never really acknowledged that what he did was wrong and only felt bad because Dam was upset with him. He didn't even feel like a second lead because all those moments were forced with that dumb red string of fate plotline. The moments with him were so hard to watch, and I was able to tolerate it at the end because he was changing plus his older brother moments were very cute, but it was so unnecessary to make him a love interest noting how Dam was uncomfortable with him pracitcally the entire time. Overall, it's a pretty lighthearted show with a few very angsty episodes but it's such a fun watch I'll miss it greatly, especially the dry humour. The sarcastic comments Wooyeo makes are GOLD and his relationship with Hyesun was honestly my favourite part of the show. Gosh, I didn't think I'd write this much but it does show how passionate I was about it and I want to write out my feelings before I forget!

in the beginning i was genuinely laughing every 5 minutes , i really thought that had chemistry , except in the middle i realized that actually the energy is all on her , shes top , hes never likable and i just realized too late , not even in the last episode hes likable , second lead even worse , glad we had 3 leads couple , love them

As weird as it may sound, I think one of my favorite things about this show was its score. All the instrumental songs were just so good and added an extra layer of emotion to the show. Also, Hye Ri's facial expressions ranked high up. I think "scared" was my favorite, exasperated and mischievous being close behind. This was my first time seeing her work, and I very much look forward to watching more of her stuff. The love triangle deserves an honorable mention, I think. Never before have I low-key rooted for both guys to get the girl. Typically I can't care less about the guy that's the proverbial third wheel, but here I just felt so sad every time either Woo Yeo or Seon Woo got upset over Dam. Last but not least, I thought the second couple was utterly adorable and I really loved Dam's relationship with her BFFs Jae Jin and Soo Kyung and her younger brother. Doom at your Service still remains my top favorite fantasy k-drama, but this one was really good too. A lot lighter and fluffier by comparison, but still great.
