It's going to be a shot in the dark!
Woody Allen stars as Val Waxman, a two-time Oscar winner turned washed-up, neurotic director in desperate need of a comeback. When it comes, Waxman finds himself backed into a corner: Work for his ex-wife Ellie or forfeit his last shot. Is Val blinded by love when he opts for the reconnect? Is love blind when it comes to Ellie's staunch support? Literally and figuratively, the proof is the picture.

I never thought I'd hear a White Zombie song in a Woody Allen movie, but this has one. _Hollywood Ending_ is a pretty straightforward comedy for Allen, where he is playing the lead character. If you've seen any of his movies, you will know what to expect: subtle comedy - though I did laugh out loud in one scene - and some romance thrown in. If you're already a fan of Allen's movies, I recommend this one. If you're not a fan or new to him, I still think this is worth seeing; it's very much a safe, crowd-pleaser story from him.
This movie was thoroughly awful. It was like watching an aging athlete stumbling around the outfield as he is well past his prime. I can't believe Allen rebounded from these kinds of efforts.
