Camille Razat is perfect in this role. And she's good looking too..... the movie is correct
Poor attempt at a psychological horror that skirts possession/demonology. The main problem is that things just happen in the movie and the writer/director just wants you to accept this. Sure, there are hints everywhere (Liblis, crosses, dreams) but the main character just does things because the story tells her to. Not because the things that happen in the story make it so. The reasons of why the main character goes insane and gets involved in the occult seem to just come out of nowhere, purely because the writers said so. It also relies too heavily on visual cues to make sure the viewer understands what it's about; Candles going out that then are back lit for some reason, black and red dreams, panning shot of crosses, reverse waterfall shouting, horned goats... You've all seen it a thousand times... Ooooh spooky... Ooooooh the occult.... Thunder and lightning, very very frightening. Satan must be here! Well... Mansemat... But he's another guy, technically. Also... you're using Latin and use "LOREM IPSUM"?? They translate it in the movie as "I shall return" but in reality lorem (from dolorem) = pain/sorrow and ipsum = itself. But... Lorem Ipsum... Come on. I can butt heads about the meaning of Mastemah/Mansemat as well but still... few of these movies get it "correct" (whatever correct is)... But Lorem Ipsum... Why? In short: if you know nothing or little about demonology or just watch movies without using your brain this might be okay for you. If you do however I fear this isn't sufficiently engaging in any way.
Save your time and skip this poor movie.
Like a cheating lover, Mastemah lies and gaslights you just to get the reaction it's looking for out of you. The cast is fine and the cinematography is good enough beneath all the filters but the story is as clear as a teenager's skin. On top of that, there are some scenes and characters that are basically lies to make us fall for the twist whether we like it or not. Spoiler alert: we don't.
