Extreme violence. Bad language. And a bloody good time.
After the vicious slaughter of his family by stone-cold mercenary Sub-Zero, Hanzo Hasashi is exiled to the torturous Netherrealm. There, in exchange for his servitude to the sinister Quan Chi, he’s given a chance to avenge his family – and is resurrected as Scorpion, a lost soul bent on revenge. Back on Earthrealm, Lord Raiden gathers a team of elite warriors – Shaolin monk Liu Kang, Special Forces officer Sonya Blade, and action star Johnny Cage – an unlikely band of heroes with one chance to save humanity. To do this, they must defeat Shang Tsung's horde of Outworld gladiators and reign over the Mortal Kombat tournament.

The story was basic, but the action, oh my god, the action! The fights were satisfyingly brutal and gory with all the X-ray moves you can imagine from the games. The fights were great, too, though I expected more trademark moves from Johnny. The others were fantastic, showing off all their signature moves. I hope they make a sequel with bigger, better fights!
Wow! Surprisingly great badass animation! Reminded me all of my good memories from amazing MK video game. Please continue this series. Totally recommended.
This movie is just AWESOME!!!
Good action scenes but the voice acting is horrible.
I am commenting as a fan of the game that knows generally the characters as well as chronology of events of the main story. The fatalities have always been a signature of any Mortal Kombat media buying never expected the movie to portray it in a similar way as the games but I did enjoy it regardless of how hyperbolic some of the moves might appear. I never judge these types of movies according to masterful script writing or intricate plots. I judge them more based on being faithful to the source material and how well executed the animation or fighting style is in the movie itself. I would say the fighting was well coordinated but a bit too short and simple. I wish they were drawn out more. Overall, it was a fun watch and I believe paid tribute to the lore behind each character well enough,
